You question why this celery I wear
Upon my coat lapel; what is it for?
Does it go with my face, my eyes, or hair?
A fashion statement from some time before?
Perhaps it's filled with antioxidants
To keep at bay some health-related qualm.
Or if I get into some accidents,
I'll eat it as a means of keeping calm.
Well, yes, and no. It's really there because
If certain deadly poisons fill the air,
It will turn purple from the green it was
And let me know those chemicals are there.
And after that, what will I do? Who knows?
If nothing else, I'll eat it, I suppose.
I've decided that, all this week, I'm going to write fandom sonnets. It's fun. This is the first one I wrote. It's about the Fifth Doctor and his celery. I find his celery very amusing and, apparently, sonnet-worthy. So yeah.

Also, I don't usually use the word "chill", but it was while writing this poem that I discovered how chill my grandma is. I was at her house, and it was nine at night. She and my grandpa were asleep, and I was up writing this sonnet, drinking tea, and making toaster waffles. She woke up and went into the kitchen to get something, and she found me doing this, and she didn't think it was weird at all. My life is cool.
