No Reason

So there is a reason for this. I was inspired by this, which compared the reason Ford Prefect rescued Arthur Dent from Earth in the old TV show and the movie. In the movie, he "owed him one". In the TV show, he just liked him. (Not romantically, just friendship. If you know the story, you know what I'm talking about.)

Anyway, I thought that drawing was cute and I decided I'd do the same idea in my own style, but it wasn't supposed to be nearly this shippy. I have a confession to make - I like shipping. I like drawing shippy things. It's cute and I like it. But it's odd when you don't really ship what you're drawing. Like, I'm okay with the Arthur/Ford ship (a very few people seem to ship it) but it's just not something that makes sense to my mind. (Though as I drew this, I started to justify the ship in my mind and came to the headcanon that Ford actually deeply cares about some people, but his desire to seem like the hoopiest frood in the galaxy gets in the way of his expressing emotional closeness to people. Arthur is one of the people in question. I may or may not end up writing some kind of fic in which this headcanon is explained.)

But yeah. I drew this. It was an enjoyable way to spend an evening.
