The Summer Triangle

So here are the personifications of the stars in the Summer Triangle. From left to right: Altair, Deneb, and Vega.

The three of them, having no planets and therefore no obligations to anyone or anything but themselves (but wanting to do something with their lives), have joined forces to go throughout the universe (or at least the Milky Way) and do what Deneb calls "solve bad things". (All three of them engage in Buffy Speak rather frequently. It's a star thing. Stars are not amazingly good at the spoken word.) In other words, they're three guys who want to go fight crime or such stuff. Exactly as disorganized as it sounds. They're supposed to be funny.

Deneb is emotional and excited about things and generally thinks he's always right. He also tends to blow situations out of proportion (i.e. thinking a perceived "crime" is worse than it actually is). He's the leader because 1. this was his idea, and 2. he's the one who has the most motivation and focus. (Altair has focus - i.e. he understands things pretty clearly - but not enough motivation to go out and do stuff he doesn’t need to, and Vega has loads of energy and enthusiasm but no focus.)

Altair is pretty observant and very factual, and he tends to see the holes in Deneb's reasoning. Unfortunately, most people view him as an over-thinker and don't listen to him. As a result, he rarely voices his opinions but always blames others for not taking the advice he never gave them. Only sane man.

Vega (who considers itself genderless and uses the pronouns "it") is really exuberant and does whatever Deneb or Altair tell it to do. But it also deviates from the plans a lot when it deems it a good idea. ("Yes, I know, we ended up destroying that nice Anthean inventor's plan to make a shooty gun thing that would have turned any object into an edible thing, thus solving his planet's hunger problem. But I thought it was a death ray, and when you see a death ray or something that’s also a dangerous thing, you destroy it, right?")
